The VW ID3 has, despite weighing more than a really heavy thing, drum brakes at the back. And why not? The front ones do most of the work and it has regenerative braking anyway.
The latest Focus, like the Fiesta and related Puma, is available with a ( very) mild hybrid system. It’s only available as a manual.
The Focus is infamous in some markets for its dry clutch DCT. The current Focus therefore has an eight speed torque converter automatic option. but not the ST. That gains a new DCT.
The Fiesta is also notorious for its Getrag/Magna GT DCT. The current model has recently acquired the option of a new seven speed DCT, also by G etrag .

On a sidenote, the ID3 looks pretty nice in person. Neighbors of a close friend have one and are quite positive about it.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I’m so sad we don’t get the Focus and Fiesta anymore. Especially because the current ones are so damn good looking

Ford won’t even sell us cars (besides the Mustang) and you want them to sell us cars with manual trans missions?

It looks a bit Chevy Boltish in the frumpiness department in photos. Glad to hear they look better IRL. How long have they been out?

Not that long. As I understood it, those people have a history with Volkswagen and have been early adopters, so they were quite likely high on the list of ID.3 1st edition deliveries. Which of course also makes me take their opinion with a grain of salt, but still.
I’d honestly consider this as an option. For my cars I like gadgets and fun. I drive a Hyundai i30N which is the fun side (hot hatch) . But if I was in the market now I’d be into the eco and gadget side of the ID.3. Need to make a test drive once they are a bit more readily available.

Ah, the i30 N, I like those things. I like the Veloster that’s available here a little bit more but they’re very fun hot hatches.
I can understand wanting the gadgety/eco stuff though and the VW ID3 is one of the better cars around for that from what I’ve read.
Sometimes you wonder about the first few if a new car you see around. Like I saw the new 4 Series in the road and was wondering what sort of person is the first to get it.
